Calendar feeds — see your schedule in Google, Apple, or Outlook

Every provider can have a private calendar link that any calendar app subscribes to — Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook — showing their next 90 days of FrontDesk appointments with the client's name, service, phone, and status. Set it up from the provider's editor under Settings → Providers or copy it from My Schedule. The link is a secret: anyone who has it can read the schedule. Going the other way, Settings → Integrations can subscribe FrontDesk to an outside iCal feed and import its events every hour.

Two features share the name. The first shows a provider's FrontDesk schedule inside their own calendar app. The second pulls an outside calendar into FrontDesk.

  1. Settings → Providers → edit the provider. The bar "Sync their appointments to Google, Apple, or Outlook calendar" has a Set up button (available once the provider is saved).
  2. Click it; the bar changes to "Calendar sync is on" with Copy link.
  3. Paste the link into the provider's calendar app as a subscription: in Google Calendar, Other calendars → From URL; in Apple Calendar, File → New Calendar Subscription; in Outlook, Add calendar → Subscribe from web.

A provider who signs in to FrontDesk also finds the link on My Schedule in the Calendar Sync card, where clicking copies it.

The feed contains the provider's appointments for the next 90 days, except cancelled ones. Each event shows the client's name and the service as the title, with the service, phone, status, confirmation, notes, and reason in the description, and the practice as the location. Times use the provider's location time zone.

Keep it private

The link works without a login. Anyone who has it can read the schedule, including client names and phone numbers, so share it only with its provider. Clicking Set up again generates a new link and the old one stops working. To retire a link entirely, contact support.

Pull an outside calendar into FrontDesk

Under Settings → Integrations, paste an iCal (.ics or webcal) URL to add it as a feed. FrontDesk fetches it to check it works, names the feed after its address, and then imports its events every hour as appointments of a default type ("General" unless you change it), skipping anything already imported. Each feed can be synced now, edited (name, address, interval, default type, duplicates), or removed.

Feeds need the calendar sync feature, included on Pro and above. For a true two-way connection with Google, see Connect Google Calendar.

Frequently asked questions

Is the calendar link secure?
It is a long random address that works without a login, so treat it as a password: it shows client names, phone numbers, and notes to anyone who has it. Share it only with the provider it belongs to. Generating it again from the provider editor replaces the old link, which stops working.
How current is it?
Calendar apps refresh subscribed feeds on their own schedule, typically every few hours for Google and Outlook and configurable in Apple Calendar. The feed itself is always live and covers the next 90 days.
Is this the same as connecting Google Calendar?
No. The feed is one-way and read-only: it shows FrontDesk appointments in your calendar. Connecting Google Calendar under Settings → Integrations is a two-way sync that also blocks time in FrontDesk when your Google calendar is busy.
