Set up your practice website

Settings → Website builds a complete website from what is already in FrontDesk (your services, providers, hours, booking page and client portal), on a template you pick. Edit any page or section, let the AI rewrite the copy in your voice, preview it exactly as it will publish, then click Publish. Your site is live at yourname.sites.frontdesk.care right away, and you can point your own domain at it with one CNAME record.

Your website is built from what FrontDesk already knows about your practice, so it is never out of date with your hours, services or team. Open Settings → Website.

What you see

The page has two halves. On the left, three tabs: Design, Pages and Domain. On the right, a live preview of the page you are working on, in the template and colours you chose, switchable between desktop and phone. The preview paints the same data that gets published, so what you see is what goes live.

At the top, a status pill says Not published or Live, with the live address and a Publish button.

On a phone the editor fills the screen. Tap Preview in the bottom bar to slide the live preview up from the bottom, and swipe the page chips at the top of the preview to move between pages. The bar's main button is whatever comes next: Save changes while you have edits, then Publish. The menu at the top right holds Preview, Publish, Open live site, Copy address and Take offline. On the Pages tab, + Page adds an optional page, the on a page offers Write with AI, Add section and Remove this page, and the on a section moves or removes it; every menu slides up from the bottom.

Design

  • Template. Pick a look. Templates marked Made for you suit your kind of practice: clinics start on Aurora, home care agencies on Haven or Lantern. Your words stay the same when you switch.
  • Brand. A brand colour (or keep the template's) and an optional logo. Click Upload image to use a file from your computer (JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF, up to 10 MB) or paste an image address. Buttons and accents follow your colour, and text stays readable automatically.
  • Search and the main button. What people search for, your city and state, and a tagline. The home page title becomes, for example, Home Care in Tampa, FL, which is the phrase people type. The main button text (say, Request a free assessment) opens your online booking page; agencies also set where Apply now goes on the Careers page.
  • From your settings. A read-only list of what the site pulls in: name, phone, address, hours, services, providers and the portal link, each with a hint if something is missing. Rebuild pages from these facts starts the pages over from the template if you want a clean slate; your template, colour and domain are kept.

Pages

The page list shows every page on the site. Home, Services and Contact are always there. Team, Areas we serve, About and Careers can be turned on or off with the switch; turning one on gives it a starter you can edit.

Pick a page and its sections appear below. For each section you can change the layout where there is a choice, edit every field (headings, text, buttons, lists of items), move it up or down, or remove it. Image fields, like the hero picture or a team member's photo, have an Upload image button; pictures are resized for the web, stripped of camera data, stored with your practice in a folder for that page, and served from FrontDesk, so you never need an image address. Add section offers every section type: hero, highlights, steps, stats, care options, services, team, areas served, insurance or ways to pay, reviews, FAQ, call to action, text blocks and contact.

Write with AI rewrites the current page's words in your voice from your facts. It never invents prices, never changes the page structure, and reads the note you leave in Tell the AI about your voice. Unsaved changes are saved first.

Reviews sections start with placeholder quotes that say so. Replace them with real ones before publishing.

Domain

Your site has an address the moment it is published: yourname.sites.frontdesk.care, shown on the Domain tab with a copy button.

To use a domain you own, type it (for example www.yourpractice.com) and save. The tab shows the one DNS record to add at your registrar: a CNAME from your host to your FrontDesk address. Add it, then click Verify now. It usually takes minutes, sometimes up to an hour; the tab shows what the last check found until it succeeds. Once verified, the site answers at your domain within a minute, with its own SSL certificate, and every link on it uses that address.

Publish

Publish saves any unsaved changes and freezes a snapshot of the whole site. It is live at your address within about a minute; there is nothing to upload or wait for. Edits you make afterwards stay in your draft until you publish again; the status line tells you when the draft is ahead of what is live. Take offline removes the published site within a minute and keeps your draft.

Good to know

  • Services and team come from Settings. Inactive services and providers are left off automatically.
  • No booking page yet? The main button is shown greyed in the preview and left off the published site until you set up online booking.
  • Accessibility and SEO are built in. Every template is contrast-checked, keyboard-friendly and includes local business structured data; FAQ sections add question markup search engines can show.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the website get its content?
From Settings. Your practice name, phone, address and hours come from Locations; the Services page lists your active services; the Team page lists your active providers; the main button opens your online booking page; and the portal link goes to your client portal. Change those in Settings and the site follows on the next publish.
Do I have to write the copy myself?
No. Every page starts with sensible copy built from your facts. Click Write with AI on a page to have it rewritten in your voice; add a note like "warm and plain, mention our bilingual caregivers" first if you like. The AI only changes words, never the page structure.
What is the address of my site?
yourname.sites.frontdesk.care, shown on the Domain tab, is live the moment you publish. To use your own domain, enter it on the Domain tab, add the CNAME record it shows at your registrar, and click Verify now.
Does publishing change what visitors see immediately?
Within about a minute. Publishing freezes a snapshot of your site and the site server picks it up right away. Edits after that stay in your draft (the status line says "draft has unpublished changes") until you publish again. Take offline removes the site within a minute and keeps your draft.
Can I upload my own photos?
Yes. Every image field (logo, hero picture, team photos) has an Upload image button. JPEG, PNG, WebP and GIF up to 10 MB; large photos are resized automatically and camera data such as location is removed. Uploaded pictures are stored with your practice, in a folder for the page they belong to, and served from FrontDesk. You can still paste an image address instead.
What happens to my website if FrontDesk is down?
It stays up. When you publish, a copy of your site is written to storage that the website server reads directly, so visitors keep seeing your site even if the FrontDesk app itself is offline. Only publishing new changes waits until FrontDesk is back.
What is different for a home care agency?
Home care and home health sites get the agency layout: a how-care-begins section, an Areas We Serve page, a Careers page for caregiver recruiting with an Apply link, and "ways to pay" instead of insurance plans. The Haven and Lantern templates are made for it.
