Set up online booking

Every practice gets a public booking page at book.frontdesk.care/your-slug. Configure which services are bookable, set lead time and cancellation windows, customize the look, and share the link — patients self-serve while you sleep.

The booking page is a fully-hosted, mobile-optimized appointment scheduler your patients can use 24/7. No login, no app — just a link.

Turn it on

  1. Open Settings → Online Booking.
  2. Toggle Enable public booking on.
  3. Confirm your slug (defaults to your practice name in kebab-case). This becomes your URL — book.frontdesk.care/your-slug.
  4. Pick which appointment types are bookable (checkbox per service).
  5. Set booking rules:
    • Minimum lead time — how soon someone can book (default 24 hours)
    • Maximum advance — how far ahead (default 60 days)
    • Cancellation window — how late changes are allowed (default 24 hours)
  6. Click Save.

Your page is live immediately at the URL shown at the top.

Customize the look

Same Settings → Online Booking page:

  • Logo — upload a PNG/JPG (recommended 400x100, max 1MB)
  • Cover image — optional banner across the top
  • Brand color — hex code; affects buttons and accents
  • Welcome message — markdown-supported intro text
  • Confirmation message — what patients see after booking

Preview updates live in the side panel.

What patients see

A 3-step wizard:

  1. Choose service — your bookable services with duration and price (if set)
  2. Pick a time — calendar showing only available slots based on real provider availability and your hours
  3. Patient info — name, phone, email, optional notes; consent checkbox for SMS reminders

After submitting they get an instant email confirmation and the appointment appears in your Dashboard.

  • Website button — link book.frontdesk.care/your-slug from your site's "Book Now" button
  • Google Business Profile — paste it in the Appointment URL field for one-click booking from Search & Maps
  • Email signatures, instagram bio, post-visit reminder — anywhere a URL fits

For multi-location practices, each location gets its own slug and URL — your patients can also start at your organization landing page which lets them pick a location first.

What's next

Frequently asked questions

What's my booking page URL?
book.frontdesk.care/<your-slug>. The slug defaults to a kebab-case version of your practice name (Sunny Dental → sunny-dental). You can customize it in Settings → Online Booking.
Can patients book any service?
No — only services where you've enabled "Allow online booking" appear on the public page. Use this to keep complex consultations gated to phone-only.
How far in advance can patients book?
You set it. Min lead time defaults to 24 hours, max defaults to 60 days. Both are configurable per practice from Settings → Online Booking.
Can I require a deposit?
Deposits are on the roadmap but not yet available. Today the booking page collects contact info and confirms the slot — payment happens at the visit.
