Answering texts is quick, but writing the same replies over and over isn't. Smart Suggestions drafts the reply for you right inside the Inbox — you stay in control and just review before sending.
How suggestions work
Open a conversation in Inbox → Messages. When a patient's message could use a reply, the assistant offers a few draft responses tailored to the thread. For each one you can:
- Accept — drop the draft into the message box, ready to send.
- Edit — tweak the wording first.
- Regenerate — get a fresh set of options.
- Dismiss — hide the suggestions and type your own.
Because you approve every message, the AI can move fast without ever texting a patient something you didn't see. Think of it as a well-trained front-desk teammate handing you a draft.
Turn it on and choose its goals
Open Inbox → Smart Reply to configure the assistant:
- Enable Smart Reply — the master switch.
- Goals — choose what it helps with. Add or remove any of:
- Book appointment
- Confirm appointment
- Reschedule
- Answer questions
- Collect info
- Follow-up
- Reminders
- New patient welcome
Pick the goals that match your workflow. If you never want it drafting reschedule messages, remove that goal; if you mostly use it to confirm and answer questions, keep just those.
Tips
- Pair it with templates for the messages you send verbatim (like a standard confirmation), and let Smart Suggestions handle the one-off replies.
- Keep your knowledge base current — the more the AI knows about your hours, services, and policies, the better its drafts answer real questions.
- Requires two-way texting. If you don't see suggestions, confirm texting is enabled on your plan and set up under Send and receive SMS.
