Every practice gets the occasional spam texter or robocaller. Blocking a number stops it from reaching your Inbox and phone, so your team can focus on real patients.
Block a number
- Open the conversation in Inbox → Messages.
- Choose the block option in the thread.
- Confirm.
From then on, calls and texts from that number are silenced — they're dropped without a notification or an unread badge, and the conversation is marked blocked.
Unblock a number
Changed your mind, or blocked the wrong number? Reopen the conversation and choose unblock. The number can reach you again immediately.
Good to know
- Scope. A block applies to your practice only. It won't affect other practices on FrontDesk, and it doesn't change anyone else's settings. (FrontDesk administrators can maintain platform-wide blocks for known bad actors, but that's separate from your practice-level blocks.)
- Not sure if it's spam? If a number is a mix of real patients and noise, consider muting the conversation instead of blocking — blocking silences everything from that number, including legitimate calls.
- Missed a real one? Blocked calls won't appear in your missed calls worklist, so only block numbers you're confident about.
