What FrontDesk is
FrontDesk is an AI-powered receptionist for healthcare and service practices. It answers your phone with a natural-sounding voice, books and reschedules appointments using your calendar and your rules, sends SMS confirmations and reminders, and writes a full transcript and summary of every call to your dashboard — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
You can think of it as the best front-desk hire you've ever made: never sick, never on lunch, never short with a patient, and able to handle ten callers at once during a Monday-morning rush.
What it does on a call
When a patient calls a number connected to FrontDesk, the AI:
- Greets the caller with the greeting and voice you picked in setup.
- Listens for intent — booking a new appointment, rescheduling, asking a question, leaving a message, etc.
- Looks up or creates a patient record using the name and phone number.
- Books, moves, or cancels appointments against your calendar, respecting your business hours, providers, and per-service rules.
- Sends a confirmation text and saves a summary, transcript, and recording to the dashboard.
- Hands off to a human by transferring the call, taking a message, or paging staff when the request is out of scope.
What FrontDesk is not
- It is not a phone tree or "press 1 for…" IVR. Callers speak naturally.
- It is not a generic chatbot. It is a voice receptionist that knows your hours, services, providers, and patients.
- It is not a clinical decision tool. The AI does not give medical advice; it routes those requests to staff.
Who uses it
Small and mid-sized practices in dentistry, veterinary care, med-spa, chiropractic, podiatry, optometry, mental-health, physical therapy, and similar service businesses. Anywhere a missed call is a missed appointment.
