Home is where you land when you open FrontDesk: one screen that tells you what needs doing today. It is the first item in the left navigation, and the first tab on the phone's bottom bar. Everything on it reflects the location selected in the location picker.
The top of the page
- Getting Started checklist, for new accounts, until setup is finished. See Your first week.
- A red Your subscription payment failed banner, only if your plan payment was declined, with Pay now (or Update payment).
- The greeting, today's date and how many appointments you have, then three counts: Appointments today, Unread messages and Unconfirmed tomorrow.
- Add patient opens the new patient form, and Book appointment opens the calendar.
On a day with no appointments, a Quiet day bar sums it up (to confirm tomorrow, inbox, your next appointment) with a Fill from waitlist button.
Work through the Tasks card
The Tasks card shows the count of everything open and how many need attention. Filter with the chips: All, Practice alerts, Urgent and Up next.
Practice alerts are tagged PRACTICE and each has a button that takes you to the fix:
- Subscription payment failed: Pay now
- N unconfirmed for today: Send reminders (opens Confirmations)
- $N in overdue balances, with how many patients: View payments
- N patients due for recall: Start outreach
- N days left in your trial: View plans
- AI minutes used up: View plans, Choose a plan, or on Free Upgrade (the AI answers again on the 1st)
- You're on the Free plan (your trial ended; Free includes 15 AI minutes and 100 texts a month): Upgrade
- Finish email setup to send reminders: Set up email
- New support replies: View replies
- Campaign finished, for campaigns completed in the last seven days, with how many booked or transferred: View results
The check box on an alert hides it from Home for the rest of the day. Nothing is deleted, and it comes back tomorrow if it still applies. The email-setup nudge stays hidden once you dismiss it.
Your tasks come from the Tasks page: callbacks, voicemails, missed calls, escalations, booking requests, messages and more. Urgent tasks (marked HIGH or EMERGENCY) are listed first; the rest are under Up next, grouped by caller, with Show N more when there are more than three. Each row has Call back when there is a number, and a check box that marks the task done after you confirm Mark done. Click a row to open it.
The right column
- AI Receptionist. Answering your line when it is quiet. When calls are live it shows Live · N calls, each caller with a timer and what they want, and Listen in. The footer shows calls handled today and how many booked, with a Call log link.
- Today's schedule, on days with appointments: the next four visits still to come, with time, patient, service, provider and a status pill, and N more upcoming when there are more. Visits that have already finished drop off as the day goes on. Calendar opens the full calendar.
- Today at a glance: unread messages (opens the Inbox) and how many are still to confirm for tomorrow, with Manage into Confirmations.
- Call times: a heatmap of the last 30 days in two-hour blocks, darker when busier, with your busiest hour. Analytics opens the Calls tab of Reports.
The Income tracker in the top bar
People who handle the practice's money see an Income tracker chip at the top right of every screen, beside the location picker. It shows the month's short name and the net income collected so far this month at the location you are in: payments received minus refunds, counted in the practice's time zone.
Click the chip to open Income tracker:
- This month's net beside Previous month (all of last month).
- A line such as "$1,240.00 ahead of all of September so far", or behind, when last month had income.
- Amounts: turn it off to show "$ • • •" in place of every amount, on the chip too, for a screen other people can see. The choice is remembered in this browser.
- View reports opens the Financial tab of Reports.
The chip shows on a computer, not on a phone. It appears for the account owner, and for an owner, admin, manager, practice manager or biller at the location you are viewing; other team members don't see it. Switch locations to see another location's figure.
On a phone
Home on the phone is a single column: the greeting, a Needs you card with the same alerts plus unread messages and tomorrow's unconfirmed visits (or "Nothing needs you" when it is clear), Today with up to four upcoming visits (or The day is open with Fill from waitlist and Book), a short list for Confirmations, Messages, AI receptionist and Recent calls, and Quick actions: Book appointment, Add patient and Send message.
