Review new patients

The New Patients page surfaces everyone added in a recent window so nobody falls through the cracks after their first contact. See a per-day trend and a breakdown of where new patients came from (AI call, online booking, manual, and more), then work the list by status — Needs action for those still missing an onboarding step, Onboarded for the ones fully set up, or All new. Open any patient to review and finish their details. It's the fastest way to make sure first-time patients are fully captured.

The New Patients page is your catch-all for first-time patients — so everyone who just called, booked, or was added gets fully set up instead of slipping through after their first contact. Find it under Patients → New.

See where growth is coming from

At the top, an insights panel shows:

  • Per-day trend — how many new patients came in each day across the window.
  • Acquisition source — a breakdown of where they came from (AI call, online booking, manual entry, and more), so you can see which channels are working.

The header shows the count and the current window (for example, "12 new in the last 7 days").

Work the list by status

Filter with the status chips:

FilterWho's in it
Needs actionNew patients with an onboarding step still outstanding
OnboardedNew patients who are fully set up
All newEveryone added in the window

Change the date range to widen or narrow how far back "new" goes.

Finish onboarding

Open any patient to review their record and complete anything that's missing. When their onboarding is done, they move from Needs action to Onboarded automatically.

Good to know

  • It complements your main list. For the full roster and record editing, see Manage patient records.
  • Pair it with recall. Once new patients are onboarded, recall lists keep them coming back.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as a new patient here?
Anyone added to your practice within the selected window — by default the last several days. Change the date range to widen or narrow it.
What does "Needs action" mean?
The patient was created but still has an onboarding step outstanding (for example missing details). Open them to finish it. Once complete, they move to Onboarded.
Can I see where my new patients came from?
Yes. The insights panel breaks down acquisition by source — AI call, online booking, manual entry, and more — plus a per-day trend so you can see which channels are driving growth.
