Notifications tell you what happened while you were looking elsewhere: a missed call, a new secure message, a payment that failed. This page is where each person decides what they want.
Go to Settings → Account → Notifications.
Channels and behaviour
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Sound notifications | Play a sound when a notification arrives. |
| Desktop notifications | Browser notifications; your browser asks for permission the first time. If it is blocked, the switch says so. |
| Phone notifications (app) | Push notifications to your phone. On iPhone, add FrontDesk to the home screen first. Send test checks it works. |
| Group by type | Combine similar notifications into one row with a count. |
| Attention tags on dashboard | "Needs attention" tags on unconfirmed appointments. |
| Real-time booking alerts | Ping the bell for every booking, or fold routine bookings into a daily summary. This one is per location. |
Performance summary emails
Per location: Email me a performance summary daily, weekly, or monthly, with the metrics you tick — calls answered, calls handled by the AI, appointments booked, new patients, calls transferred to staff, cancellations, reschedules, missed calls, and estimated staff hours saved.
The financial digest is separate and lives on the Financial report; see Financial reports.
What to be notified about
Six categories, each with a master switch and individual events:
- Calls — incoming, missed, completed, new voicemails
- Messages — new messages, replies
- Appointments — new bookings, cancellations, reschedules, reminders, confirmations, no-shows
- Waitlist — added, slot matched, entry expired
- Payments — payment received, payment failed, refunds, invoice sent
- System — alerts, updates, maintenance
Clinical notices (a note due, a co-signature needed, a risk flag, a completed measure, a plan review due) go to the provider or supervisor concerned and are not switched off here.
Sounds
A call ringtone and a message sound, each with its own switch, a preset or uploaded sound, a preview, and a volume slider.
The bell
The bell in the top bar opens your notifications with chips for All, Unread, and Needs you, grouped into Needs you, Today, and This week. Each row offers its next action (call back, open the record, reply, view in the calendar, listen). Mark all read clears the unread count, and the ⋯ menu can clear everything.
